My cousin stopped in the states on her way from New Zealand back to Scotland. It’s her first time in the US and I took us to Yosemite. It had been a decade since I had been and I sometimes forget why it’s one of the biggest nature destinations in the world. It remains breathtaking, admitelly the valley feels smaller than I recall but that adds to it, how could such a small pocket of landscape be so captivating. I loved seeing how many people were out exploring, how many different languages I overheard and all the brand-new gear being tried out on the trails and in the snow. Despite the infrastructure that is built in the valley, it still feels a world away and you can really be at peace up behind those peaks!
